We've taken the design of our rear license plate bracket from the Focus RS and adapted it to fit various Volkswagen (and Audi) models!
This revised bracket is available in a couple different engineering-grade materials: carbon fiber nylon (tough and strong) and carbon fiber polyphenylene sulfide (extremely tough).
This bracket will come with a blank front face, but custom logos are available! Leave me a note at checkout, or get in touch via email/text/store chat about what you'd like.
All brackets come with 316 (marine grade) stainless steel fasteners to mount the bracket to your car, as well as to mount your license plate TO the bracket. Since a lot of folks do not like the look of stainless steel screw heads, if you opt for the standard ones, you will receive a set of UV-resistant snap-on caps to cover the screws.
Alternatively, we also offer black oxide coated 304 stainless fasteners as an option, but bear in mind that these are nowhere near as corrosion resistant as the standard 316 stainless steel ones we offer. We DO NOT recommend these for use on cars on the east coast or in the rust belt.
Since not all VW rear ends are created equal (and we're still working to figure out which ones are which), the shape of the hatch/trunk/bumper will dictate which bracket you will need.

Our Materials
Our Materials
We often get asked what the difference is between all of the different materials that we offer.
Nylon Carbon Fiber: This is a copolymer alloyed with Nylon 6 and Nylon 12, and then reinforced with 15% carbon fiber. The resulting product is a bracket that exhibits some marginal flexibility, but is reasonably rigid and very tough. We take these a step further by bonding the outer carbon fiber shell to an even tougher and ductile core made from either Nylon 910 or TPU. We then put each bracket through a proprietary post-processing procedure that strengthens the bracket significantly.
PPS Carbon Fiber: Compared to Nylon, this material is extremely rigid. Significantly stronger to the point of being overkill for the application, PPS is also very heat resistant and has the unique characteristic of sounding like metal if you tap it on a hard surface. It tends to have a rougher looking surface finish than Nylon does, and it also doesn't laser mark very well.

I don’t normally get excited about a license plate bracket, but here we are.
The factory bracket on our 2025 Tiguan used self-tapping screws into plastic to hold the plate. At some point ours had been installed incorrectly, the plastic holes were damaged, and screws had actually gone through far enough to contact the paint on the hatch. It’s a small detail, but it’s exactly the kind of small detail that shouldn’t become a problem in the first place.
This bracket fixes the entire design instead of simply replacing it.
The fit is excellent. It mounts directly to the factory locations with properly countersunk hardware, sits perfectly flat against the vehicle, and gives you four actual threaded brass inserts for mounting the license plate. No self-tapping screws, no damaged plastic holes, no rattling plate, and no hardware getting anywhere near the paint.
The materials and construction are excellent, and even the packaging and handwritten note made it obvious that Chris and his team care about what they’re making.
My wife installed it herself in a few minutes with a T40 and 4 mm hex bit. Everything lined up exactly as it should.
It’s a license plate bracket. You should install it once and never have to think about it again. That’s exactly what good engineering should accomplish.
Absolutely fantastic and fits my M6 screws nicely
Late last year, I ordered a bracket for my VW GTI and it has served me very well ever since. About a month ago, my mother bought a Mazda 3, and was disappointed to see that the plate was drilled directly into the plastic of her rear bumper. I told her that I knew exactly who to go to for a solution! I ordered another VW bracket and Chris etched the Mazda logo on for us, and voila! Problem solved! She’s so happy with the results! Thanks again Chris, you’ve once again made our cars better than they came from the factory!
This bracket is much better than what the dealer installed on the back of my new Tiguan. The dealer installed bracket warped a bit tilting my license plate upward. Also, the sharp pointed screws the dealer used to install the license plate to the bracket were just long enough to hit the paint when I removed the dealer branded plate cover. Ugh! This custom bracket lays flat, the hardware provided is first rate and the hole locations are spot on. There was even a nice note written on the packing slip. I'm glad I found this small business online.
Installed this rear plate bracket on my 2026 VW Golf R (Mk 8.5). Easy install. High quality materials. Great customer service and fast reply to my questions.
Purchased this bracket to correct my platr alignment. Dealership installed my rear plate off center and my OCD did not like that it was off center. This bracket allowed me to correct this. It will also allow me to know worry about switch plates if I wish to get custom plates down the road as I will not have to unscrew from the bumper and widen the holes in the bumper.
Can not see bracket when the plate is on, but I know it is there. Also had it customized with the Golf "R" in the center. Again, can not see it, but a nice custom touch.
