We've taken the design of our rear license plate bracket from the Focus RS and adapted it to fit various Volkswagen (and Audi) models!
This revised bracket is available in a couple different engineering-grade materials: carbon fiber nylon (tough and strong) and carbon fiber polyphenylene sulfide (extremely tough).
All brackets come with 316 (marine grade) stainless steel fasteners to mount the bracket to your car, as well as to mount your license plate TO the bracket. Since a lot of folks do not like the look of stainless steel screw heads, if you opt for the standard ones, you will receive a set of UV-resistant snap-on caps to cover the screws.
Alternatively, we also offer black oxide coated 304 stainless fasteners as an option, but bear in mind that these are nowhere near as corrosion resistant as the standard 316 stainless steel ones we offer. We DO NOT recommend these for use on cars on the east coast or in the rust belt.
Since not all VW rear ends are created equal (and we're still working to figure out which ones are which), the shape of the hatch/trunk/bumper will dictate which bracket you will need.

- Black "snap on" caps to cover the screw heads if you choose 316 stainless

When I had to replace the preliminary plates with the permanent ones I was very unhappy to see that the dealership had used self tapping screws to attach the frame to the thin flimsy bracket and the screws tips left small dents in the paint finish. With the help of Google I came across this design masterpiece that would provide the perfect solution to my problem. communication with Chris was great. After I sent some pics of the old bracket, he concluded that this bracket was likely going to be compatible with the id.buzz, and he was correct. th only issue I had was that I had to use longer bracket screws: because of the thickness of bracket, the included M6 14 mm screws did not reach the threads of the receptacles in the tailgate. I had to use 16 mm screws instead. The kit comes with two sets of plate screws, 10 mm and 12 mm. The longer ones were perfect for use with the silicone license plate frame. For aesthetic reasons I chose not to use the included black screw caps. I used Hillman 1/4” hinged screw caps in white. I love being able to use bolts instead of self tapping screws. It keeps the paint finish safe, and removing the plates for detailing is also much easier

Keeps my license plate from digging a hole into the paint like my last bumper and when I go to take off my plate to wash the area behind it, I don't have to worry about the screws stripping out of the bumper.
Chris was also very accommodating when I asked if he could swap the VW logo for a GTI logo on the bracket.
I'll definitely recommend this to other people.
Looks great and works great. Comes with high grade hardware that won’t rust. Yes there are cheaper options being pump out of factories. But you have to respect the craftsmen-ship and support the little guys!
